Love and Unacknowledged
Chapter 1 Part 1 - Psychopath
Jeffrey was looking out of the window that morning, with that horrific abnormal gleam in his clouded eyes that prevented what should have been the most brilliant of sights, that was almost causing Jeff to be completely blind; as the sun was no help at all due to its bright rays scarring every inch of his face with its intimidating light.
It had only been two days ago that his whole life had changed when he came eye-to-eye with Verity, and never again would Jeff be the same as he was before. Now with his heart beating and his adrenaline continuously rushing in charismatic ways, Jeffrey knew that his quest was going to be the death of him.
"Another day with the woman who shall never acknowledge me." Said the psychopath with his usual, husky-toned voice that would never be obliged as 'friendly' to any of his fellow colleagues. Not that it mattered anymore. They'd soon be dealt with, once Jeff had gotten to know Verity a lot more.
After all, someone had to be the gentleman of this somewhat 'job' of theirs. It was not like anyone was ever unemployed in the business anymore, but neither were they paid well or at all until the end of the month.

"You're kidding me, right?" Verity asked, as she locked her jaden green eyes on the man who stood behind his desk, his nails tapping rapidly at the old and broken wood of his desk impatiently. "I will never work with that rude and arrogant HOBO!" She exclaimed in shock and trauma. That psychopath of a man named Jeffrey was not going to be her working partner for the rest of the year! Rumours had already spread about this bloke who wore the same clothes for a whole week had been on a murderous spree over the past 3 months, yet still Mortmainn, Verity's and everyone else's boss, had not even acknowledged that.
"Verity, you don't work with Jeffrey and I will ensure that this job does not last long for you, dear. Remind yourself that you are only here for the rest of this year because no other business will take you in. Only now am I beginning to see why this is the cause. You're not exactly the best at most things we require, are you ma'am?"
Mortmainn was mocking her. Verity could taste the bitter sweet flavour of anger rising through her body and into her mouth, where the emotion rested on her tongue.
"Are you saying I'm a thick person?!" Verity shouted, "I'll have you know that not only am I refusing to work with Jeffrey, neither am I willing to follow your orders while you stand here, tormenting me with such harassing English vocabulary that makes me want to kill you myself!" She snapped with her angry tone of voice. With that said, and Mortmainn left with quite a surprised look on his face, Verity turned around and left the room, heading back into her office. Where she sat down, head in hands, and sobbed unwillingly out loud. What a disgusting job she had taken.
